Correspondence between the Lodz Ghetto community system and various organizations and institutions: Letter from Leister, the Commissar [Regierungspraesident] of Lodz, to Rumkowski, accusing the Jewish merchants and industrialists of profiteering and threatening mass arrests, 14 October 1939 Leister complains that the Jewish merchants and industrialists are transferring merchandise from their warehouses to other locations; he accuses the merchants and industrialists of profiteering and demands that Rumkowski put a stop to what is happening, threatening mass arrests.
