Announcements to the population issued by Rumkowski in the Lodz Ghetto: Announcement dated 31 October 1941 to the new arrived deportees that apartments are available only through the Housing Department in an organized manner Patience is required; ghetto inhabitants are forbidden to rent apartments privately; anyone doing so will be evicted from his apartment; a directive to the house guards to extend all possible assistance to the new arrivals; demanding payment for this help is forbidden.
