Announcements to the population issued by Rumkowski in the Lodz Ghetto: Announcement Number 271, dated 25 May 1941 urging those residents of the ghetto with sewing machines to sell them to the Purchasing Center If the sewing machines are not sold voluntarily, they will be confiscated; many orders have arrived and a large number of workers can be employed to fill them.
