Announcements to the population issued by Rumkowski in the Lodz Ghetto: Announcement Number 215 dated 13 February 1941, stating that non-receipt of an answer regarding a request for support means that the request has been denied Rumkowski receives thousands of letters, including requests for support and work; replies are sent only to those receiving a positive answer to their requests. Anyone who does not receive a reply in three weeks may take it that his request has been turned down.
