Announcements to the population issued by Rumkowski in the Lodz Ghetto: Announcement Number 168, dated 20 November 1940 ordering ghetto residents who have carpentry tools to lend them to the Altestenrat This order is being implemented due to the serious shortage of implements and the large amount of carpentry work to be done; non-compliance with this order will lead to confiscation of tools.
