Issues of the Jewish newspaper, "Juedisches Nachrichtenblatt", Vienna edition, 21 February-30 November 1939 (the newspaper is incomplete) The publisher of the "Juedisches Nachrichtenblatt" was the Juedische Kulturbund (Cultural Federation of German Jews); the newspaper was published at the initiative of the authorities following the shutting down of all the Jewish newspapers after Kristallnacht. Its purpose was to provide information on Jewish matters, mainly regulations and restrictions, to the Jews of the Reich. The newspaper was widespread among all the Jewish communities in Germany until late 1943; its orientation was general Jewish, and it provided information in all aspects of life that interested the Jews. After the outbreak of the war, the newspaper was forced to reduce its scope and editorial content, and it restricted itself to the subject of emigration as much as possible given the deterioration of the situation.
