They returned to Sarajevo after the birth of their son Moshe Kaboson. Bela traveled to her sister in Sarajevo in 1940, where she married Marko Eckstein. Bela and Victoria were deported to the Sabirni Logor Loborgrad camp in late 1941. Bela was already pregnant when she arrived to the camp, and her daughter Eliza was born in May 1942. After she gave birth, Bela succeeded in escaping to the Bulgarian Embassy and, using the documents that she had, she returned to her family in Varna. She does not have information regarding the fate of Marko Eckstein. In 1944 Bela married again, with Refael Melamed, and he adopted Aliza (Eliza). The Melamed family made aliya to Israel in 1948.
