Biographical History

The Court of First Instance in Drama was established in 1914.

Archival History

The pre-war archives of the Court of First Instance in Drama were destroyed during the Bulgarian Occupation (1941-1944).

Acquisition

The Courts are obliged to transfer archives not in use to the General State Archives.

Scope and Content

Various proceedings and decisions relate to the Jews of Drama after the Holocaust. These items usually concern death certificates and property issues.

Conditions Governing Access

The material of the Court Archives is available according to the provisions of the Law.1946/1991 “General State Archives and other provisions” and 2472/1997 "Data Protection Act".

Copies are available and are issued by employees. Ratified copies of archival material are available upon request.
