Biographical History
The Auxiliary Service of the Jewish Religious Community of Pilsen was established on January 6, 1942. Its task was to help with including citizens in transports to concentration camps - assistance in cooking, sewing, packing the necessary things, and babysitting children under 8 years of age during preparations. The service worked 24 hours a day. A collection service was also organized to take luggage to the assembly point. The Jews of Pilsen were summoned gradually hour by hour since January 9, 1942 and were gathered before being transported to Terezín in a gym in today's Štruncovy sady. From Terezín they were further transported to extermination camps.
