Acquisition
Files of the Landgericht (Reichs Regional Court) in Trutnov were taken over by the National Archives in Kuks between 1958 and 1959. After 1960, the fonds was transferred to the State Archives in Zámrsk, where it was organized in 1961.
Scope and Content
The fonds contains documents of justice administration from the occupation period and sorted in accordance with individual cases that the court addressed, and offers a view into the functioning of the then administration of justice. Unfortunately, documents of racial segregation were not preserved. Nevertheless, the Jews are mentioned in other writings that deal with divorce proceedings of mixed marriages of Germans with Jews. Jews are explicitly mentioned in the following cases: Ernestine Schanzer seeks annulment of marriage to a Jew James Schanzer, from Javornik, part of the village of Rudnik (inv. No. 177, signatrure R 252/1939, file No. 120); divorce of an owner of a chemical-pharmaceutical factory in Maršov, motivated by racial reasons – the Jewish wife fled to England (inv. No. 177, signature R 57/1943, file No. 143); Elisabeth Werner divorce with her husband Alois, who helped the Jews for money to get border passes (inv. No. 177, signature R 239/1939, file No. 120); other files relating to applications for divorce on the grounds of a race (inv. No. 177, signature R R 4/1939 and 10/1939, file No. 109; inv. No. 177, signature R 97/1939, file No. 113; inv. No. 177, signature R 226/1939, file No. 152). Fonds contains also other various writings pertaining to the Jewish history: a copy of the action against Anna Müksch or Josef Mükschovi for accusing five people with red hair of being children of the Jew Mandl (inv. No. 131, signature VII-1 Lg. Traut., file No. 36); redress of clerk for not being counted as the daughter of a Jew as the origin would have inhibited her in the performance of the office (inv. No. 177, signature R 134/1940, file No. 128); drastic measures against the Jews (inv. No. 86, signature 313-I, file No. 12); documents relating to activities of Jewish legal advisors (inv. No. 156, signature IX-25, file No. 47).
