Acquisition
After 1945, the files were moved from the District Court to the building of the Regional Court in Cheb. In 1963, the files were taken over by the State Archives in Kadaň where the fonds was arranged and inventoried. In 1981, the fonds was handed over to the District Archives in Sokolov.
Scope and Content
The fonds includes documents of the Amtsgericht (District Court) in Sokolov from the period of the Nazi German occupation. Relevant information related to Jews can be found in the agendas of inheritance estates, litigations and seizures of property, land books and criminal proceedings.
System of Arrangement
The fonds of the Amtsgericht Sokolov includes books, registry finding aids and files (administrative matters, civil disputes, criminal matters and other undisputed matters, files of the inheritance court and files of the youth prison).
