Acquisition

The cards in their cabinets were removed from the JIAS office in January 2003. They were scanned and indexed by the Canadian Jewish Archives, for the most part using funds from a private donation from Penny Rubinoff. They continue to be frequently used to assist former JIAS clients as well as their direct descendants who are seeking family history data.

Scope and Content

3 card file cabinets containing approximately 98,000 index cards pertaining to various categories of immigration case files stored at CJC on and offsite, and offsite by JIAS. Organized alphabetically
