Prongs for attaching to a uniform The collection relates to the experiences of Mordche Lieb (Leon Falik), his wife Giza Sternchuss (later Falik), and Giza's sister Mildred Stern [Malka Sternchuss] in Poland before and during the Holocaust, when Leon fled Poland for the Soviet Union and Giza fled Tarnopol and became a partisan. Mildred left for the United States before the war where she joined the US Women's Army Corps.

    Map of Wesel, Germany used in Peter Master's service. Peter Masters (the donor's husband) [nee Arany] was a Viennese Jewish refugee who served in the British commandos. The color map was compiled and drawn by C.I.U. and the War Office, and photolithographed by the War Office, 1944.

    Map of Germany used in Peter Master's service. Peter Masters (the donor's husband) [nee Arany] was a Viennese Jewish refugee who served in the British commandos. The color map depicts a section of Germany, photolithographed by O.S.1944. Stamps on the map identify it as having been updated with information relevant as of 16 March 1945. The scale is 1:25,000. The section of Germany is identified with the number 4305.

  9. Military pass

    The pass allowed Edward Moses to enter and leave Dachau concentration camp at any time of the day or night. Passes were issued by the United States Army to help control the entrance and exit of people in the camp because of disease and the death rate of the prisoners.
