    The photographic postcard depicts a group of ten men and one woman seated at a table with lit candles, a Yizkor sign, and a banner with Hebrew characters on the wall behind them. Caption on the verso: "Radzyń Podlaski Poland / This was taken in / Germany D.P. Kamp sic."

Also includes photographs of other influential figures in the Roosevelt administration and photographs of Henry Morgenthau, Sr., the United States Ambassador to the Ottoman Empire during the Armenian genocide.

  4. Hilda Seftor memoir

    Consists of one memoir, 8 pages typewritten, regarding the wartime experiences of Hilda Seftor (born Hilda Cohen), originally of Scotland. Her mother was the president of the Refugee Children's Committee, and Hilda describes her memories of the kindertransport children who lived with her family and of life in wartime Scotland.

    The collection consists of photographs taken of Emanuel Herszkowicz (now Emil Hersch) at the Landsberg displaced persons camp. Includes photographs of Mr. Herszkowicz working in an O.R.T. training facility and as a member of the Landsberg camp's police force.

  9. Stove from the Gurs internment camp

    Small portable cooking stove brought back from the Gurs internment camp by one of the refugee families. The rectangular metal stoves had a grill on top, a receptacle to make the fire in, a small drawer underneath for the ashes and a little chimney pipe.

    Consists of two documents from the SS Marine Flasher, thirty photographs, and three small photograph albums from the displaced persons camp in Föhrenwald, Germany, relating to Abraham Ackerstein.

    The collection consists of a drawing, correspondence, and documents relating to the experiences of Erika Schulhof and her family in Vienna, Austria, and Erika's experience as a Kindertransport refugee in the United Kingdom before, during, and after the Holocaust. Some of these materials may be combined into a single collection in the future.

    The collection consists of two Waffen SS fezzes and a Nazi banner relating to the experiences of Kurt Weiler, a refugee from Nazi Germany before World War II, who served in the US Army in Europe during the war.

    The collection consists of a handmade card, correspondence, photographs, reports, and drafts relating to the experiences of Roswell and Marjorie McClelland and their work for the American Friends Service Committee in Europe from 1940-1945, and Roswell McClelland’s work as a War Refugee Board representative in Switzerland, 1944-1945.

    The collection consists of badges, luggage tags, purse, suitcase, storybook, prayer book, and documents relating to the experiences of Ruth Danzig before, during, and after the Holocaust as a Kindertransport refugee from Munich, Germany, to the United Kingdom, and her 1944 emigration to the United States.

    Contains two black-and-white photographs of Susan Szarfare Greenstein's mother in the Landsberg Displaced Persons camp.

  18. Drevich family collection

    Consists of an 101-page manuscript and twenty photographs. The manuscript, "An Auschwitz memoir," written by Arka Drevich donor's father describes his experiences in the Auschwitz concentration camp from 1942 to 1945. Photographs show the Drevich family life before and after World War II; most photographs were taken in the Föhrenwald displaced persons camp in Germany between 1946 and 1948.

  19. Lutz Haase collection

    Contains official documents concerning donor's status as a political refugee in Shanghai during the war. Collection of booklets and newspapers are published by the "Association of Former Central European Refugees from Shanghai." Also includes 27 photographs taken in the Hongkew ghetto between 1943-1948, described by the donor.
