    This archive comprises directories and documents detailing refugee camps and other accommodation and care facilities where survivors of the Holocaust were placed upon their arrival in Sweden. The sub-series F3 Documents regarding children (Handlingar rörande barn) contains records concerning children among the survivors transported to Sweden in 1945, of whom many were afflicted with tuberculosis.

  3. Kader family photograph collection

    The collection consists of photographs depicting Symcha and Eda Kader (Harvey Kader's parents), Moishe and Lola Kader (Harvey Kader's uncle and aunt), and Anna and David Kader (Harvey Kader's twin cousins) in a refugee camp in Stuttgart, Germany, after World War II. Also included are two Rosh Hashana greeting cards bearing images of Anna and David Kader as infants.

  4. Selected records of the Shanghai Municipal Archives

    Contains records from the Shanghai Municipal Government, International Settlement, Education Department, Finance Department, Public Works Department, Public Health Department, and French Concession. Topics include: Jewish schools, Jewish journal, school fees, grants to schools for foreign children, the Jewish refugee kitchen, health facilities, the Jewish cemetery, registration of Jewish aid organizations, and annual reports of aid organizations. Also contains documents relating to Polish, Czechoslovak, and other European refugees.

  5. Morris and Mania Schwartz Parnes collection

    The collection consists of documents and photographs relating to Mania Schwartz [donor] and her husband, Morris Parnes, documenting their experiences immediately following the Holocaust. Included in the collection: photographs from the Leipheim DP camp, the Ketubah and photographs from the Parnes' wedding day, documents from the ORT school issued to Morris Parnes, and papers relating to their immigration to Canada.

  6. Ralph Markowitz papers

    The papers consist of a medical card issued to Rafal Markowicz [donor] for immigration, a photograph of Markowicz wearing a police uniform in the Zeilsheim displaced persons camp, a photograph of Markowicz and Allan Greenstein, who was also a member of the police force in the Zeilsheim DP camp, and a photograph of [from left to right] Nathan Shanak, David [last name unknown], and Celia and Harry Markowitz [donor's brother and sister-in-law] taken in the Zeilsheim DP camp.

  7. Henry Flatow papers

    The papers consist of an envelope censored in France sent by Henry Flatow's father Hans Flatow in Italy in March 1945 and two airgraphs (one with envelope) sent to and from Hans and Henry Flatow in Italy and England in May and June 1945.

  8. Central Historical Commission : Collection about children (M 1.PC)

    Contains approximately 327 questionnaires. This collections includes materials gathered by the CHC (The Central Historical Commission of the Central Committee of Liberated Jews in the U.S. Zone, Munich) by means of special questionnaires to gather information about the past of the few children among the Holocaust survivors in the DP camps. The children were asked about their lives during the Nazi rule and the fate of their families. Some questionnaires have photos of the children.

  9. Frima Laub papers

    The Frima Laub papers consist of photographs of Frima Gleiser (later Frima Laub) taken in 1945 and 1947. Four of the photographs were taken at the Schlüpfing displaced persons camp in Bavaria, Germany and shows Frima with an unidentified friend. Also included is a poster featuring a photograph of Frima and announcing a performance sponsored by the Association of Jewish Women in Havana, Cuba, in 1949.

  10. Chris Lerman photograph collection

    The collection consists of eight photographs of Chris and Miles Lerman, their friends, and their family, during their time in the Berlin Schlachtensee displaced persons camp in Germany after liberation and their voyage to the United States on board the "Marine Perch." Also included in the collection are three photographs of the Lermans' friends in Bergen-Belsen.

  11. Albert Neuwirt collection

    Consists of seven photographs, identification cards, and vaccination cards relating to Albert Neuwirt and his experiences as a refugee in the displaced persons camp in Landsberg am Lech, Germany.
