History

In 2014 the archive was transferred from Stary Kisielin to the new building in Zielona Góra. In the same time, the branch archives in Wilkowo and Żary were liquidated and their collections transferred to Zielona Góra.

Mandates/Sources of Authority

Nowadays. The State Archive in Zielona Góra works on the ground of the Act on National Archival Records and Archives of July 14, 1983, Journal of Law, (Dziennik Ustaw) No 38, 1983.07.19 with later changes.

Archival and Other Holdings

The archive in Zielona Góra possesses the following kinds of holdings:

  • records of towns and villages (the oldest: records of Zielona Góra from 16th century),
  • documents of various craft guilds,
  • judicial documents (courts),
  • notarial files,
  • birth, marriage and death records,
  • documents of German land estates,
  • documents of agriculture cooperatives,
  • documents of political parties, organizations and trade unions (NSDAP, PZPR, ZMP - Polish Youth Society, ZMW - Village Youth Society).

Opening Times

The State's Archive holdings are available in the workroom open Monday 8.00 - 18.00 and Tuesday-Friday 8.00 - 16.00.

Conditions of Access

The access is regulated by Instruction No. 4 of the Head Office of State Archives in Poland, dated February 1, 2013.
