    Scale model, 1:10 ratio, of Block 5, men's barracks, at Theresienstadt ghetto-labor camp made by Jiri Lauscher after the war. It was based upon his experiences as an inmate of the camp in German occupied Czechoslovakia from December 1942 - May 1945. Even while in the camp, Jiri was concerned with preserving memories of the prisoner's experiences. He remained dedicated to this memorial work for the rest of his life.     Contains four volumes of scrapbooks compiled by Siegfried Wenzel, as a child or adolescent while living in Germany, between 1939 and 1943, consisting of clippings from German newspapers of the era, reporting on wartime events. Consisting of four separate numbered volumes, titled "Kriegstagesbuch," with handwritten annotations added by Wenzel from that time, the volumes report on German military advances from the invasion of Poland in September 1939 through the battle of Stalingrad in early 1943.

    Documents pertaining to the efforts of David Reisfeld of New York City, who working with an American aid organization, the Humane Refugee Aid Society, Inc., sought to facilitate the immigration of several Jewish refugees from Austria to the United States in 1938-1939. Includes documentation about efforts to assist Karl Friedenthal (Vienna), Mr. and Mrs. Levi Hornstein (Vienna), and Hermann Singer (originally of Vienna, writing from Kitchener Camp, England).

    Four separate typescript entries of the "Chronicle of the Łódź Ghetto," or "Tageschronik," covering the dates of 2 November 1942 (Nr. 182), 17 November 1942 (Nr. 197), 9 March 1943 (Nr. 53), and 1 August 1943 (Nr. 197). The Department of the Archives, of the Eldest of the Jews in the Łódź ghetto, produced the daily chronicle from 12 January 1941 until 30 July 1944. Until 1 September 1942, the chronicle was written in Polish and titled "Biuletyn Kroniki Codziennej," and from 1 September 1942 onward it was published in German and titled "Tageschronik," although editions in both languages ...

    Consists of letters written by members of the Czuczka family of Vienna, Austria, between 1939-1941. The majority of the letters were written by Artur Czuczka and detail his attempts to emigrate from Austria and join his brother's family in the United States.     Leather boots given to Captain James Keegan, US Army, by a prisoner whom he befriended following the liberation of Landsberg concentration camp in Germany. The inmate made the boots while a shoemaker at the camp. He explained how he had used matchsticks to attach the soles because there were few nails. 2nd Lt. Keegan, 411th Regiment, 103rd Infantry Division, deployed to France in fall 1944 and was a front line officer throughout the war.     Contains writings and research notes of S.L. Shneiderman (Samuel Lajb Shneiderman) for a book with the working title "Jews in Communist Poland." The writings and notes regard Jews in the Soviet Union who wanted to serve in the Polish Army of General Władysław Anders (often referred to as Anders' Army) and the reasons why they were denied. Also includes a typed manuscript sent to Shneiderman by Dr. Salomon Leder in Israel in the late 1950s titled "Memoirs of a Young Political Prisoner in the USSR" (in Polish, 278 pages).
