  1. Henry Brandys collection

    Consists of a postcard, dated 16 June 1942, written by the donor’s maternal grandfather, Hershel Posmantir, in the Sosnowiec ghetto, to his daughter, the donor’s mother Chana Posmantir, who had been imprisoned in the Bernsdorf labor camp, a sub-camp of Gross-Rosen; Kreis Trautenau, since 1941.

    Audiotaped recordings of the Ethnographic Archive collection, featuring interviews on the subject of blood libel, the history of Polish Jews, and the Holocaust and its aftermath in Poland.

  4. George L. Scott memoir

    Contains memoir, poetry, and prose written by George L. Scott, a survivor of the concentration camps of Savar, Auschwitz-Birkenau, Kaufering, Landsberg, and Dachau. His memoir "Life, Reach for it!" (formerly titled "The Way it Happened!") centers around his memories and descriptions of Birkenau. He now spends much of his time talking to students about his experiences at the Toronto Holocaust Centre.

  5. "Shanghai Jewish Chronicle" collection

    Consists of copies of the "Shanghai Jewish Chronicle" dated: May 10, 1942; Sep. 11, 1942; Sep. 28, 1943; Sep. 29, 1943; May 7, 1944; Sep. 2, 1945; and an undated issue entitled "Ein Jahr Aufbau."

  6. "While the World Watched"

    Consists of one audio CD entitled "While the World Watched," created by the Library of Congress as part of the Veterans History Project. On the CD, veterans describe their experiences as concentration camp liberators and as witnesses to the Nuremberg war crimes trials. The program is narrated by former United States Senator Max Cleland.

  7. Sam Klasner collection

    The collection consists of a pair of shoes, calipers, a certificate, documents and photographs relating to the experiences of Sam Klasner during the Holocaust when he was a forced laborer in the factory owned by Oskar Schindler in German occupied Czechoslovakia and after the Holocaust when he lived in a displaced persons camp in Germany. Some of these materials may be combined into a single collection in the future.

    Testimony, 12 pages, typescript. English translation and typescript of an account by Yanoosh (Janusz ) Ostrowski, originally published in an unidentified Polish-langugage publication, titled "Getto walczy, płonie i ginie," describing his eyewitness account of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising.

  9. Memories

    Testimony, 20 pages, typescript, titled "Memories of a Wartime Teenager" by Susie Pernitz, written to her son, Jacques in 1989 and explaining what she experienced and witnessed in occupied France. Also includes another testimony, "The Life and Times of Adolf Pernitz, or Adventures of a Young Jewish Boy," written in 1994 with Susie Pernitz, describing his wartime experiencs in Poland, life as a displaced person and resettlment in France.

  10. Yefim Gorelik and family papers

    Testimony, 6 pages, typescript, Russian, with English translation, about experiences of Gorelik, originally of Parich, near Bobruisk, Belarus. Names list of villagers from Parich who were deported and/or killed by Germans, photographs of Gorelik's family. Typescript list appears to have been compiled from handwritten list in folder, that was compiled in Parich in August 1944, immediately following liberation.

  11. A statistical analysis of Soviet atrocity charges

    Russian atrocity charges for particular localities are analyzed and compared with a summary atrocity charge issued by the Soviet State Extraordinary Commission. The statistical validity of the atrocity charge is discussed.

  12. Eric M. Lipman documents

    Contains documents and photocopies of documents collected by Eric Lipman while he served as an intelligence specialist with the United States Third Army and in the following months when he helped to assemble evidence for possible use in the Nuremberg Trials. Includes correspondence and reports regarding Theresienstadt and Ohrdruf.
