  1. Robert Middleton, Sr., photograph collection

    Contains photographs of Gusen, a sub-camp of the Mauthausen concentration camp in Austria, immediately following the camp's liberation on May 5, 1945 by the American forces. Images depict liberated prisoners, Austrian citizens burying corpses from the camp, the cemetery for camp victims, and the hanging of an SS soldier.

    The footage from 00:01:45 to 00:14:03 is duplicate footage also found on Tape 2154 (from 00:06:42 to 00:19:23). Footage begins in the middle of Session 97 with Eichmann being questioned about his consultations with Müller regarding the emigration of Jews with foreign nationality in Holland.   4. Sarolta Planer Lowy collection

    Contains two documents issued to "Sarolta" Planer Lowy in Erdóbėnye, Hungary. One document details and value of personal possessions being confiscated from various people, dated 1943. The second document legally explains and justifies the dispossession of property belonging to the Jewish community in Hungary, specifcally in Erdóbėnye, based on 1939 dictate and details numerous property owners, including Sarolta (donor's grandmother).

    Military actions in Odessa, which was captured by German and Romanian forces in 1941, then occupied by Romania. A plane flies over sections of a city which have been bombed out and lie in ruins.   6. Albert and Theresia Schwager papers

    The Albert and Theresia Schwager papers contain telegrams and correspondence relating to Albert and Theresia Schwager’s attempt to emigrate from Germany aboard the MS St. Louis. The telegrams and correspondence detail their experiences aboard the MS St. Louis and arrangements for their eventual arrival in England. The collection also contains Cuban immigration documents, identification cards, and a quota number document issued by the United States consulate in Stuttgart, Germany, August 19, 1938.

  7. Abraham Heckman collection

    Consists of original documents related to life in the newly liberated Buchenwald concentration camp. Includes a brief history of the camp, written in short paragraphs and highlighting major events and executions; a narrative, one page, entitled "Mord und Hunger im November 1939" by Dr. Gustav Herzog, originally of Vienna; a blank form for reporting on the execution of inmates; and documents related to services honoring those who perished at Buchenwald.

    Scenes of adult patients performing agricultural work interspersed with footage of children outside in a yard. A woman feeds chickens, a man operates a plow drawn by bulls, and men and women pick lettuce. Lots of shots of the animals. Close-ups of children in a yard, nurses visible in the background. More scenes of patients working ain hay field; some of the men take snuff (tobacco). The children are led out of the building by nurses. Some of the children lie on blankets. A couple of them are naked and their deformed bodies and very thin limbs are visible.

    The John H. Farley collection includes photographs, clippings, and articles related to the liberation of the Dachau concentration camp and the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg, Germany. Photographs include images of German soldiers near Łódź during the invasion of Poland and of Dachau following liberation. The collection also includes a letter John wrote to his wife, Mary Jane, describing his emotions and his impressions of Dachau shortly after liberation.
