    Consists of correspondence received by the Adler family while they were residing as refugees in Switzerland. The letters, primarily addressed to the donor's parents, Camillo Adler (1905-1985) and Martha Kraus (1901-1969), were from other refugees and forced laborers from refugee and labor camps.

    Handbill issued by an unidentified synagogue in Jerusalem announcing a called strike and day of mourning in response to the sinking of the refugee ship, Strumah, in the Black Sea in 1942. The Strumah (Struma) was an illegal immigrant ship that left Constanta, Romania, on December 12, 1941 with 767 Jewish refugees fleeing Nazi-dominated Europe. The ship was headed for Istanbul where the passengers hoped to get visas to enter Palestine. The old cargo barge was unsafe and overcrowded.     This collection contains letters sent by Jewish refugee Dr Walter Manfred ('Fred') Bergmann, a medical surgeon, to his wife Ruth Bergmann, first from an internment camp in Huyton, Liverpool and then, after transfer of the camp, from Douglas on the Isle of Man (1687/1-41).
