  1. Articles and other documents relating to Rabbi Aladar Deutsch and the Jewish community of Prague

    Consists of articles relating to Rabbi Aladar Deutsch, the last chief rabbi of Prague, Czechoslovakia, prior to the Holocaust, and the Jewish community of Prague. Other documents in the collection include the birth certificate of Aladar Deutsch and a letter written by Deutsch to his daughter informing her of the lift of the quarantine in the Theresienstadt concentration camp. Each document is accompanied by a summary description written in English by William Dickman.

  2. Records relating to the statute of limitations on Nazi war crimes

    Consists of copies of letters and legal documents relating to the attempts of Judge Jess Nathan to extend the statute of limitations against Nazi war criminals in March 1965. Also included is information concerning the efforts of Christian religious leaders in southern California to have the statute of limitations changed.

  4. Seymour Krieger papers

    The Seymour Krieger papers include correspondence, a diary, and printed material relating to Seymour's involvement with the office of the U.S. Chief of Counsel during the International Military Tribunal (IMT) at the Nuremberg trials. The collection also includes military documents relating to Seymour’s service in the United States Army and two photographs of Seymour in Nuremberg and with his wife, Rita Krieger.     Consists of a letter containing a poem entitled "Message to the six million" written by Viola Sutliff.

  7. Albert H. Abramson collection

    Consists of twelve original photographs of the liberation of various camps including Dachau, Buchenwald, and Mauthausen. Includes photographs of survivors of Mauthausen, of summary execution of SS officers at Dachau, and a photograph of a group of female Hitler Youth/League of German Girls (BDM). Also includes copyprint U.S. Army portrait of Albert H. Abramson originally taken in Paris, 1945.

  8. Francis Robert Arzt photograph collection

    Contains approximately twenty photographs and copy prints of the Dachau concentration camp in the weeks after liberation, including various views of the camp complex, images of recovering prisoners in their barracks, and U.S. Army physicians conducting typhus tests.

    The collection consists of a Star of David badge, an armband, and a manuscript relating to the experiences of Karl Hans Bodenstein, who was imprisoned in Theresienstadt during the Holocaust, as well as his immediate and extended family, and their experiences before, during and after the Holocaust.

    The collection consists of a lottery ticket from the German Red Cross, a pamphlet titled "Gehl: German History in Keywords", a flier issued by the race-politics office of the NSDAP, and a magazine: NS-Frauen-Warte, Issue 15, Year 6.

  16. Jack and Marilyn Pechter collection

    The collection consists of identification canteen notes, identification tags, scrip, clippings, correspondence, documents, a map, propaganda materials, photographic postcards, photographs, and a philatelic collection documenting pre-war Jewish life, anti-Semitism, the Dreyfus Affair, the arrest of Herschel Grynspan, multiple concentration camps, and World War II. Some of these materials may be combined into a single collection in the future.

  17. Poster collection

    The collection consists of three posters: a poster created by Ben Shahn for the US Office of War Information, a poster depicting a three-quarter length portrait of Hitler (Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Fuhrer!), and an anti-Semitic propaganda poster.

  18. Roman Vishniac collection

    Portfolio containing twelve photographs, reproduced from the original negatives. The original photographs were taken prewar by Roman Vishniac (donor's father) in 1938. The catalog of the work is titled "A Vanished World," (published by Witkin-Berley, Ltd.).

  19. Bernard and Salomon Melzer collection

    The collection consists of six photographs, including a photograph of Leonore Melzer Grossberg (donor) and images of the donor's parents, Bernard and Berta [nee Schwarzbart] Melzer, and her sister, Rela. Many of the images are from Krakow, Poland, in 1939, and most have inscriptions on the verso. The collection also includes two kiddush cups that belonged to Bernard Melzer and his son, Salomon.
