    This collection consists of the personal correspondence of Marianne Elsley, a Kindertransportee from Berlin who arrived in England in March 1939. Her parents were deported and perished in the Holocaust.     This collection consists of the personnel files of former members of the Jewish Relief Unit. This organization, which was based in Great Britain, provided support and assistance of all kinds to Jewish Displaced Persons in the aftermath of the war in Germany. Of particular interest are reports of conditions at individual camps.

    This collection consists of the personal account of Alix Preece, a German Jewish refugee who had been living in France since 1927 and spent most of the duration of the Second World War there. She was interned for several months at Gurs before moving on to Marseilles where she was hoping to get a Brazilian visa to join her family. As her visa extension was refused she eventually managed to go to Portugal and from there to Algiers where she met her future husband.     The collection consists of materials from the Jewish Chronicle’s library that deal with the defence against antisemitism. These include reports on antisemitic groups, individuals and incidents, as well as on the bodies that fought against them.   18. Far Eastern Jewish Central Information Bureau: Correspondence

    This microfilm collection of correspondence between the Far Eastern Jewish Central Information Bureau (DALJEWCIB) and individuals and other Jewish organisations offers a valuable insight into the experiences of German and Austrian Jewish émigrés in the Far East. The personal accounts contain descriptions of the outward-bound voyage and of the climate and conditions in the host country, along with details on obtaining work and accommodation. Note that many of the letters are copies or extracts from originals. Some newsletters and newspapers are also included.

    This collection contains the eyewitness account of Holocaust survivor Irma Petrasek describing her long journey through the labour and concentration camps of Nazi Germany.
