    Contains a bound memoir entitled "Memories of the years 1939-1945," with information about David Gerst's experiences during the Holocaust including is imprisonment in four ghettos, a labor camp and Buchenwald and Flossenbürg. Also contains information about his liberation in May 1945.

    Consists of a compilation of four survivor testimonies (one in question and answer format). The persons giving testimony include George W. Hindels (1986), Constance Eva Bata Hindels (1984), Paul Auspitz (1984), and John Filbert (1984). All four persons were born in Vienna, Austria. An introduction written by Dorothy Hindels Brown dated 02 Feb 1994, preceeds the testimonies.

  5. Earl G. Harrison papers

    The Earl G. Harrison papers consist of the journal Harrison kept during his summer 1945 tour of displaced persons camps, a typescript of his article "The Last Hundred Thousand" about the camps he visited and people he met, excerpts from addresses about displaced persons he delivered in the fall and winter of 1945, a broadcast transcript of a radio program from July 1946 featuring Harrison's support of Jewish migration to Palestine, and newspaper and magazine clippings about displaced persons and Harrison’s work.

  20. Kay Foldvary papers relating to post-liberation Dachau

    Contains "Recollections of Dachau, May 1945" and "Memories of Life in U.S. Army, 1942 and 116th Evacuation Hosp. in Europe 1944-1945," both written by Karessa (Kay Foldvary). The date of the memoirs is unknown. Both memoirs relate to Foldvary's experiences as a United States Army nurse at Dachau concentration camp after the liberation. Also includes 52 photographs of original photographs from a photo album compiled by Foldvary. The photos depict images of post-liberation Dachau and are accompanied by handwritten captions from Kay Foldvary.
