  1. Maximilian Landau collection

    Consists of 323 photographs and 17 documents relating to Maximilian Landau and his work in the Föhrenwald displaced persons camp, Germany. Relates in part to the development of sports activities in the camp and includes photographs by George Kadish.

    Consists of two black & white photographs: an image of Union of Artisans members honoring Gershon Kotliar [donor’s uncle and central larger image], 16 Aug.1928, Romania; and an image of Union of Artisans of Soroka, Romania group portrait, honoring Mayer Roitman’s emigration [donor’s father, seated 3rd row, 7th from left], and also present is Melech Kotliar [donor’s uncle seated behind him], 14 Apr.1930.

  3. Ralph Ransenberg collection

    Consists of three items, all shot from German mortars during the occupation of the beach head in Anzio, Italy:.1) Document: "Not Guilty!"; written by John Lewis, anti-communist article; dated November 1944; 2) document: "To them it's a JOKE!"; antisemitic article with drawing verso of two men filming a battle scene, dated November 1944; and 3) political cartoon: "Are you shedding your blood to fatten him?"; anti-Communist; picture of pig with Stalin's face on a map of Europe and Asia; verso: quotes from G.B. Shaw, Sumner Wells, Mackenzie King, General Smuts, and Churchill; not dated.

    Consists of a photograph of a book burning in Berlin, Germany.

  5. Buchenwald prisoner registration card

    Consists of a prisoner registration card issued in the Buchenwald concentration camp.

  6. Clarence Juech collection

    Collection of photographs and original negatives taken by Clarence Juech (donor’s father) who was a member of the 704th Tank Destroyer Battalion, 4th Armored Division, US Army that liberated the Ohrdruf concentration camp.

  7. Zvi Rosenwein collection

    The Zvi Rosenwein collection consists of documents, postcards, and photographs relating to Zvi (Zwi, Cvi) Rosenwein's internment in Tittmoning civilian internment camp and to his work in the Liebenau displaced persons camp in Laufen, Germany. The collection includes original postcards and letters, mainly circa 1943-1945 from friends, relatives, and associates in Switzerland, Budapest, the Łódź ghetto, Palestine, and other locations.   8. Sanford Sigoloff collection

  9. Lenore Khan collection

    The Lenore Khan collection consists of photographs, correspondence, passports, advertisements, announcements, and other documents relating to the Neustaetter family of Munich and Stuttgart, Germany.

  10. Bianca Baar collection

    The Bianca Baar collection consists of fourteen black & white photographs of the Hartman family, mainly pre-war; two postcards sent to and from Klara Herz, a distant cousin of the donor, in Birkenau; and a prayerbook that survived in hiding with Yehudit (Gelb) Preisz, aunt of the donor.

  11. Fred Oestreicher collection

    Consists of one passport, "Deutsches Reich Reisepass," issued to "Ferdinand Israel Oestericher," with a red ink "J" stamped on the first page, cover detached, issued on 2 Mar. 1939; one black and white photograph, dated Nov. 1939, hand colored, taken by the donor, of the interior of a synagogue in Landau, Germany; and one clipping of the images, including the one that the donor took, above, of three synagogues in Landau, Glogau, and Beuthen, Germany.

  12. Hedwig Goldmann papers

    The Hedwig Goldmann papers consists of two Identification cards issued to Hedwig Goldmann in the Theresienstadt,(Terezin) ghetto and in the Deggendorf.Germany, displaced persons camp; a certificate of labor performed in the Theresienstadt ghetto, issued in July 1945 to Hedwig Goldmann; a letter rfrom the Austrian Red Cross regarding the fates of family members; eleven (unused photographic postcards of Theresienstadt; and 26 pieces of Theresienstadt ghetto scrip.

  13. Hana Wieder collection.

    The Hana Wieder collection consists of postcards written to Konrad Budzanowski in Brussels by Reginsa Budzanowski in Breslau (Wroclaw), Germany; Chaim and Itta Birnbaum in a Soviet labor camp near Konosho, Archangelsk district, USSR; and an aunt, Stefanie Leschizer, in Izbica Lubelska ghetto, Poland. Also included are documents relating to Konrad Budzanowski and Helena Hudes Budzanowski’s inquiries with Polish authorities regarding their civil status, and a photograph of them.

  14. Renee Fritz photograph collection

    The Renee Fritz photograph collection consists of nine photographic prints depicting Sima Schwalb and her daughter, Renee Schwalb, a Jewish child in hiding, from Austria and Belgium.

  15. Esther Karpman collection

    Consists of three documents relating to donor's membership in the Zionist Organization of Poland, and one immigration certificate issued to the donor, entitling her to immigrate to Palestine.

  16. Arthur Mayers photograph collection

    The Arthur Mayers photograph collection consists of nine vintage copy prints of Buchenwald concentration camp at the time of liberation, including images of the gallows, bear pit, crematorium, and camp survivors.

    The Rabbi Malgorzata Melchior collection consists of two petitions for the issuance of identification cards for Lejzor Melchior, Rabbi Malgorzata Melchior’s paternal grandfather and of Rózia Melchior, Rabbi Malgorzata Melchior's paternal great-aunt in the Radom ghetto, Poland.   18. Photographs of Hermann Göring and of concentration camps

    Consists of 36 photographic prints bearing images of Hermann Göring during meetings, with his family and with Adolf Hitler; the film with these images was found by a soldier while the donor's unit was marching through Mannheim, Germany. The images were developed contemporaneously. Also contains seven photographic prints bearing images of concentration camps (most likely Dachau concentration camp), taken by Harry Mueller while on assignment as a photographer with the U.S. Army, dated April 1945.

  19. Moshe Sheps photograph collection

    The Moshe Sheps photograph collection consists of photographs of members of "Hashomer Hadati" in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland; the "Kibbutz Buchenwald" in Gersfeld, Germany and in Italy awaiting immigration to Palestine; four family photographs from Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland; and three photographs of the Gorset family, Moshe Sheps' cousins.
