    This collection consists of (mostly copy) correspondence between Alexander Baron and copy articles from a variety of newspapers and periodicals. The subject of the collection deals in particular with Alexander Baron's ongoing arguments with the editor of searchlight, Gerry Gable, centred on Baron's refutation of the charge of anti-semitism.

    Readers need to book  a reading room terminal to access this digital content 985/1 consists of responses, most of which are dated November/ December 1939. In addition, there is a list of respondents. The project's results comprised a set of statistics on the fate of Germany's synagogues (985/2). The fate of the synagogues was still a subject of interest in 1959 as evidenced by a copy of a letter on the subject from C. C. Aronsfeld (985/3). 985/2 also contains a list dated 1960.

  6. Raschkow family papers

    This collection consists of the personal papers and correspondence of Walter Raschkow, a Jewish architect and his non-Jewish wife, Emma. It includes a set of Red Cross telegrams to and from their daughter, Ingeborg-Maria Raschkow (later Mayer) throughout World war II whilst she was in England and her parents remained in Stuttgart. Of particular interest is material relating to their marriage status as ‘priviligierte Mischehe' at 630/2 and material relating to Walter Raschkow's claim for compensation from the German government for suffering caused by the Nazis during the war at 630/4

  10. Dr. Karl and wife Katharina Schreiner: copy correspondence and papers re Nazi persecution

    The papers document the persecution by the nazis of Karl Schreiner, formerly a lawyer, and his wife Katharina, from Trier, from 1934-1942. They demonstrate the vigour with which any opposition to the nazis, however minimal, was fought, as early as 1934. The papers include statements of denunciation by various individuals, and the views of the NSDAP, Trier, the mayor of Trier and the state prosecutor at the Sondergericht, Koblenz. The Schreiners' offences consisted of refusal to give the nazi salute; refusal to contribute to nazi organisations and causes; opposition to their children joining...
