  7. "Mit dem Führer" photograph album

    Consists of a photograph album with an embossed leather cover "Mit dem/Führer/unterwegs" containing 230 black and white images of Hitler, including his entries into Austria, Italy and Poland. The photographer is purportedly Heinrich Hoffman, and there are hand-lettered captions in German; dated circa 1936-1944. The album was recovered by paratrooper Carl J. Walkup in Berchtesgaden, Germany and was purchased by the donor at auction in 1977.

    The collection includes biographical material, identification documents, school records, newspaper clippings, and photographs relating to the Holocaust experiences of Amalia Schwimmer and Michal Gicz. Amalia survived the Stanisławów ghetto and was hidden by Michal Gicz for one and a half years.

    The Pollak family papers consists of civil documents, diplomas, photographs and memorial albums relating to the Pollak family of Liptovsky Svaty Mikulaš, Czechoslovakia before, during, and after the war. Also included are images of Albert Pollak and other Slovakian Jews performing forced labor in a Slovak Labor Battalion in Svety Jan, Czechoslovakia, circa 1940-41.

    .50 Reichsmark coupon issued at Buchenwald concentration camp in Germany. Buchenwald opened on July 19, 1937, and issued undated notes in 0.5, 1, 2, and 3 mark denominations. The simply designed notes were printed on coarse paper. There were two types of coupons: canteen scrip and exchange scrip issued to members of outside labor brigades [Aussenkommandos.] In early April 1945, as US forces approached Buchenwald concentration camp, the German guards began to evacuate the camp.     Consists of a letter inscribed on pre-printed stationery from Roger Bordage to his mother Yvonne Bordage in Paris, France. The letter was written while Roger was interned in Oranienburg concentration camp, dated 3 October 1943. This letter was contained in an offical government envelope addressed to "Madame Bordagh" [sic] [donor's mother] in Paris; no signature on note or envelope, dated 28 April 1943.   19. Robert Carty photograph collection

    Consists of five photographs taken by Robert Carty in April 1945 depicting dozens of victims of Nazi atrocities laid out on the ground near row of buildings. Some of the photographs are labeled "Nordhausen" on the verso. Carty took the photographs while a member of the 1st Platoon, Company A, 750th Tank Batallion, 104th Infantry ("Timberwolf") Division, United States Army.

    Consists of one photograph, which depicts Rifka Rochel Orlinsky seated and surrounded by her eight grandchildren.
