Includes a manuscript text in a notebook, titled "Di geshikte fun Shavler geto un fun zefon Lita bekitzur;" manuscript drafts of several plays, including "Profesor Shuster;" and a draft of a novel, "Man iz im mekane di dira, a novele fun plitim in Italye," which is based on the lives of Jewish refugees in post-war Italy.

    Contains letters sent from Leo (Leib) and Ida Schoenhorn, of Berlin, to their son, Sigi, and other family members in the United States, dated 1941-1942. Includes several letters addressed to Sigi from June to November 1941, and one Red Cross letter, sent to brother-in-law Max Zukerman of Bridgeport, Connecticut, December 1942.

The documents included in the collection are: Eva Feigl’s naturalization certificate, Alien Registration card, high school diploma, birth certificate, and a photocopy of an affidavit in lieu of a passport, issued by the U.S. consulate in Marseille, 1940.   7. Bramson family photographs

    Consists of pre-war and post-war photographs of the Bramson family, originally of Ostrov, Russia, taken between 1923-1956. The bulk of the photographs are portraits of the Bramson family, taken in Berlin, Germany; Leningrad, Russia (now St. Petersburg); and Ostrov, Russia. One photograph depicts Alexander Bramson who was a part of the French resistance during the World War II. He is standing in the center between Isaac Bramson and Eujenk Yofe Bramson. Also includes photographs of Dr. Leon Bramson, who founded the World ORT Union in 1921.

  17. Fabian Brunner letter

    Fabian Brunner’s letter is the last letter written before he was transported to Auschwitz concentration camp, where he perished in June 1944. The letter, written while working as a forced laborer at an unidentified agricultural center, refers to his wife Sidonia Brunner being sent to Auschwitz concentration camp. The letter reflects Fabian’s anguish at not knowing the fate of his family. The woman to whom the letter is addressed is unknown but believed to be a Christian woman who was assisting or at least trusted by Brunner.     Letter and press release from Hugh S. Fullerton of the State Department to the Reverend Paul Himphreys [sic; correct spelling: Humphreys] in New Jersey. Contents of letter indicate Reverend Himphreys [sic] sent a telegram requesting action on behalf of Jews in Nazi-occupation, dated June 12, 1943. Letter references May 1943 conference in Bermuda between the United States and the United Kingdom of which the plight of the Jewish refugees was the focus.
