Sara F. Holocaust testimony

Videotape testimony of Sara F., who was born in ?o?dz?, Poland in 1914, one of eight children. She recounts the emigration of two sisters to the United States when she was a child; working at her own business starting at age fifteen; marriage in 1938; her son's birth; German invasion; ghettoization; her husband's deportation for forced labor (she never saw him again); her mother's death; her son being taken in the children's deportation when he was two years old; deportation with her sister and niece to Auschwitz in 1944; their transfer to Stutthof; her niece's selection; her sister's refusal to eat and her death after her daughter was taken, in spite of Ms. F.'s efforts to feed her; liberation by Soviet troops; returning home; living in Feldafing displaced persons camp; marriage; her son's birth; a visit from her sister who lived in the United States; and emigration to join her in 1949. Ms. F. notes she had to see "everybody die" in the ghettos and camps, and more recently her sisters and husband, leaving her alone. She shows photographs.
