Marlo S. and Sella K. Holocaust testimony

Videotape testimony of Marlo S., who was born in 1930, and her mother Sella K., who was born in 1910. Mrs. K. recalls growing up in Angerkrug, Germany (now We?gorzewo, Poland); marriage; and moving with her family and parents to Kovno in 1938 to escape the Nazis. Mrs. S. recalls Soviet occupation; confiscation of the family business; German invasion; ghettoization; her grandparents' execution; a German guard who helped her escape an "aktion"; transfer with her family to a forced labor camp; her aunt's efforts to make her appear older; separation from her father and brother a year later (she never saw them again); transfer with her mother and aunt to Stutthof; efforts to remain with her mother; forced labor outside the camp; and liberation by Soviet troops. She recounts her mother's recuperation in a Soviet hospital; reunion with an uncle in Frankfurt; living in a displaced persons camp; emigration to the United States in 1947; her mother's remarriage; her marriage in 1950 to a survivor; their subsequent lives; and her continuing close relationship with her mother.
