Black and white poster commemorating the liberation of German concentration camps. At the top center, black text is against a white background which is surrounded by 10 captioned photographs in 3 rows. The top row has 2 photos, from left; an emaciated male prisoner stands in front of others lying in their bunks and a crematory with a long chimney and a group of people walking beside it. The middle row shows a photograph of a diorama depicting prisoners working in the camp among several tents, a barred and chain linked gate with a sign in German reading: JEDEM DAS SEINE [each his own], the entrance to the camp, and a procession of people lead by a man with a large horizontally stripped flag at the 1954 Ceremony of remembrance. The bottom row shows a dead man in his striped uniform lying among other corpses, a lampshade made from human skin featuring a tattoo of a winged female, a decapitated mummified head with a description card and the widow’s procession at the Ceremony of Remembrance.
