United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Collection, Gift of Peter Ehrenhaft

Peter Ehrenhaft donate the Ehrenhaft family collection to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in June 2011.

Scope and Content

Consists of marriage, schooling, immigration, and employment documentation and correspondence related to the family of Bruno Benjamin Ehrenhaft and Anne Polacek Ehrenhaft, who were originally of Czechoslovakia but lived in Vienna, Austria in the 1930s. Includes extensive pre-war documentation related to both Bruno and Anne and documents related to their emigration with sons George and Peter from Vienna to Czechoslovakia in 1938, to London in 1939, and to New York in 1940. Includes Bruno Ehrenhaft's wartime employment documents, documents related to his parents, David and Olga Ehrenhaft, and family restitution documents. Also includes two booklets related to the family history and two CDs containing oral histories with Peter and George Ehrenhaft.
