Biographical History

Clarence William (Toby) Kuhn (1909-1978) was a medic in the United States military. He trained in Arkansas, England, and Ireland and saw combat in North Africa and Germany. He participated in the liberation of the Dachau concentration camp.

Linda Kuhn Roof and Michael T. Kuhn donated their father's photographs to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2014.

Scope and Content

Consists of photographs and photographic postcards taken and collected by Clarence W. (Toby) Kuhn, a medic in the United States Army during World War II. Includes images taken at the Dachau concentration camp and at Berchtesgaden (including both original and Signal Corps photographs), photographs collected from German soldiers, and postcards.
