Acquisition

Forms part of the Claims Conference International Holocaust Documentation Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This archive consists of documentation whose reproduction and/or acquisition was made possible with funding from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.

Source of acquisition is the Archiwum Państwowe w Częstochowie, Poland, Sygn. 61. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum received the filmed collection via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum International Archival Programs Division in 2014.

Scope and Content

This collection contains selected records of the County Department of Częstochowa, Poland, created by the various departments. Includes minutes, resolutions of the sessions of communal councils and budget files. Contains information concerning Jews, including lists of the unemployed, the aldermen (towns Kłobuck, Krzepice and other communes), merchants, physicians and farmers. Minutes of the communal councils contain affairs of the Jewish community and the names of Jewish aldermen.

System of Arrangement

The system of arrangement of the source repository has been preserved in digital images. Arranged in four series: 1. Organizing Department, General and Commercial; 2.Department of Municipal Affairs; 3. Department of Public Health; 4. Department of Social Welfare.
