The religious medallion was donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2001 by Lucian W. Kempner, Lorraine H. Kempner, Hans Kempner, and Therese Kempner, the son, the daughter-in-law, and grandchildren of Robert M. W. Kempner.

Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements
Circular metal form. Front is decorated with small pedal-like protrusions along circumference which act as a frame. Inside the frame is a paper form with the image of a nun (Dr. Edith Stein) atop a piece of cloth. Image and cloth are covered with a protective piece of glass. Verso is smooth metal. A metal loop and jump ring are found at the top of the medallion.
