United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Collection, Gift of Jeff Bieber

Jeff Bieber donated the "There Once Was a Town" transcripts and tape logs to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2014.

Scope and Content

The collection includes oral history interview transcripts and tape logs related to the documentary film "There Once Was a Town," produced and directed by Jeff Bieber in 1999 for WETA, a Public Broadcasting Service station. The interviews were conducted with Yaffa Eliach, author of There Once Was a World: A 900-Year Chronicle of the Shtetl of Eishyshok, other survivors of Eishyshok, Poland (now Eišiškės, Lithuania), and their children.
