Acquisition

United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Collection, Gift of Mimi Calver

Mimi and Rodney Calver donated this collection to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2013. Mr. Calver's mother, Grace, operated a pub in Shrivenham, Oxfordshire, with Mr. Burrows' widow, Nina. As the Burrows had no children, the photographs were given to the Calver family.

Scope and Content

Consists of six photographs taken after the liberation of the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. The photographs, which depict corpses and a crematorium oven, likely belonged to Flight Lt. Leonard (Bunny) Burrows, a member of the British military who took part in the liberation.
