Acquisition

: Source of acquisition is the Qoraqalpogʻiston Respublikasi Markaziy Davlat arxivi (Central State Archives of the Autonomous Republic of Karakalpkastan). The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the filmed collection via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum International Archival Programs Division in May 2022. This is an ongoing project.

Scope and Content

Collection contains records related to the evacuation of civilians to the territory Autonomous Republic of Karakalpkastan during WWII. It includes correspondence of the state authorities regarding resettlement and employement of evacuated civilians, lists of the members of the Communist Party, correspondence related to search of relocated relatives.
