Biographical History
The Panevėžys Jewish Gymnasium (Secondary School) was established in 1925 as four years co-educational education institution with the Yiddish as a primary language of instruction. The school was closed in 1935

Acquisition
Source of acquisition is the Lietuvos centrinis valstybės archyvas (Lithuanian Central State Archives), Fond 1137. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum received the filmed collection via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum International Archival Programs Division in Feb. 2021.
Scope and Content
Consists of students’ files, class journals, minutes of meetings of the teachers' council, records of entrance examinations; requests from parents for the admission of their children to school; class journals, graduation certificates, etc. The latter include photos of students.
System of Arrangement
Arranged in two groups: 1. Personal files of students in alphabetical order; 2. Certificates, class journals, correspondence file, minutes of the meetings, etc.
