Acquisition

The collection was donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum by Lucy Cess in 1995.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of images of the liquidation and destruction of the ghetto in Kaunas (Kovno), Lithuania, as well as a photograph of a group of Jews, including Lucy Cess [donor] and her mother, who survived the destruction of the ghetto by hiding in an underground bunker.
