Acquisition

United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Collection, Gift of the David and Eric Bassler families.

The Eric and David Bassler families donated this collection to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2011.

Scope and Content

Consists of ten photographs of Bernhard Kullak, a Nazi physician. Includes photographs of Kullak in uniform treating a patient (at a field or training hospital). Includes some post-war pictures of Kullak and his wife, Friedel, as well as some pre-war images of a clothing store owned by Friedel's father, Emil Koch. Also includes Kullak's Ahnenpass, with genealogical information; family tree documents for Friedel Koch; and post-war copies of documents including Friedel's birth certificate, the couple's 1939 marriage certificate, and Bernhard Kullak's death certificate attesting to his 1943 death on the eastern front.
