Biographical History

Mrs. Grubman-Lifschitz was born in Łódź, Poland, she was imprisoned in the Łódź ghetto, transported to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, and then to the Ravensbrück concentration camp. On April 25, 1945 she was taken on a rescue transport to Sweden via Denmark, circa May 2, 1945.

Scope and Content

Two photographs showing mostly Jewish women prisoners leaving the Ravensbrück concentration camp as part of Count Bernadotte rescue mission. The second photograph shows the white busses of the Red Cross in Copenhagen, Denmark at the City Hall Square (Radhuspladsen).
