United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Collection, Gift of Henry Politzer

Henry Politzer donated the Henry Politzer collection to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2000.

Scope and Content

The Henry Politzer colllection consists of vintage copies of documents issued before the war to Ottilie Politzer Gessler, Henry Politzer's mother. The documents include a letter sent from Cardinal Innitzer congratulating Ottilie Politzer on having been awarded the Silver Distinguished Service Cross; dated August 10, 1935; Kranichberg, Austria; in German. Letter sent to Ottilie Politzer informing her that she had been awarded tax free title of Government Social Welfare Counselor; May 24, 1930; in German. Certificate awarding the Austrian Silver Distinguished Service Medal; July 19, 1935; Vienna, Austria.
