Biographical History

Leo Smoliansky was interned in Dachau after Kristallnacht. He was later also interned in Ile-aux-noix an old fortification near the St. Lawrence river after immigrating to Canada.

The papers were donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum by Madelyn A. Just in 1989.

Scope and Content

The papers consist of a letter and an envelope. The letter was written by Leo Smoliansky to his aunt, Lizzie Lauterstein, in Texas and describes his and his family's preparations to leave Germany.
