Scope and Content
Consists of two Canadian passports issued in 1947 for Dorothy (nee Segal, 1919-2012) and Siegmund (1919-2005) Schnitman who met in Canada in the 1940s while living in Toronto after escaping Poland and Germany, respectively, in the 1930s. Both passports indicated the dates of their Canadian citizenship, granted in 1946, and their immigration to the U.S. via Buffalo, NY in February 1948 before they settled in New York City.
