Acquisition

The photographs were taken by Arthur Ruden in 1945. The collection was donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum by Arthur Ruden in 1993.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of two photographs depicting the corpses of prisoners at the time of liberation in Ohrdruf and Buchenwald concentration camps and a photograph of nine American soldiers after Passover services in Kirchheim am Ries, Germany. Captions are in English on the verso.
