Scope and Content

Documents, correspondence, and photographs concerning the experiences of Leo Lowy. Includes documents and correspondence specific to the donor's internment in the Theresienstadt concentration camp, deportation to Auschwitz, and his transfer to and liberation from Buchenwald. Includes information about his subsequent experiences as a "guest" of the U.S. Army's 639 Battery Division, and post-liberation correspondence with his family. Also included are correspondence and documents from his uncle Karl Fuchs in Dachau to his aunt in Czechoslovakia, including death certificate of his uncle issued from Dachau in 1941.
