The passports were donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 1998 by Anita Plachte Sockol, Ludwig Plachte's daughter. the following are the two different provenances for the two passports in this collection: Issued Ludwig Plachte (donor's father), May 1937, Berlin, Germany. Donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 1998 by Anita Sockol. Issued Ludwig Plachte (donor's father), December 1934, Berlin, Germany. Donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 1998 by Anita.

Scope and Content

The papers consist of a passport for foreigners ("Fremdenpass"), issued to Ludwig Plachte [donor] on May 3, 1937, and a passport ("Reisepass"), issued to Ludwig Plachte, on December 20, 1934.
