Biographical History
Mara Cygielstrejch was born April 18, 1908 in Zablotow, Poland. She spend her childhood in Lvov. In 1949, Cygielstrejch left Poland for Israel and settled in Tel Aviv.

Acquisition
The memoir was handwritten in Polish by Mara Cygielstrejch on her eighty-fifth birthday in 1993. Along with a typed Polish copy and an English translation, it was donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Collections Department by her nephew, Mieczyslaw Cegielski. The three versions of the memoir were transferred from the Collections and Acquisitions Department to United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Dec. 1993.

Contains information about the early life of Mara Cygielstrejch in Lvov (L'viv), Poland, her flight to the Soviet Union, and her eventual emigration to Israel.
