Acquisition

Source of acquisition is the Instytut Pamięci Narodowej-Komisja Ścigania Zbrodni przeciwko Narodowi Polskiemu. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the filmed collection via the United States Holocaust Museum International Archives Project in Jan. 2020. This is a cooperative project based on the agreement between USHMM and Yad Vashem, Israel.

Original documents collected by the Main Commission to Investigate Nazi Crimes in Poland: materials on Joseph Meisinger (chief of Einsatzgruppe IV, than chief of Sipo and SD in Warsaw), materials on the crimes committed in Zamość region (“Zamojszczyzna”), files on the children's camp Dierżężnia near Łódź, reports of gendarmerie in Biłgoraj county, District Lublin, materials regarding Major Henryk “Hubal” Dobrzański, a diary from the Łódź ghetto in Yiddish, memories of Tadeusz Bednarczyk about the Warsaw ghetto, personal files of Wilhelm Koppe (SS- und Polizeiführer, SSPF in GG), testimonies of witnesses about the crimes committed on professors in Lviv in 1941, testimonies of witnesses about the crimes of the Wehrmacht committed in Kleck, lists of SS, Szupo, SD, Gestapo and prison crews in the District Lublin, orders from 1941 Der Kommandeur der Sipo und SD fur den District Warschau, lists of Jews expelled from the Third Reich and staying in Zbąszyń camp, report from 1943 on the situation in the western territories of pre-war Poland, crimes committed during the Warsaw Uprising of 1944 - hearings of witnesses, list of victims from the Sokołów Podlaski county, lists of prisoners of Pawiak and Białystok, drawings of uniforms of German formations.
