Acquisition

Source of acquisition is the Státní okresní archiv v Opavě (State District Archive Opava), Czech Republic. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the digitized collection via the United States Holocaust Museum International Archives Project in Dec. 2019, and accretions in Feb. July and Aug. 2020., July 2021. This is ongoing project.

Scope and Content

Features administrative records pertaining to the expropriation of Jewish properties and assets and the enactment of anti-Jewish measures in the districts of Opava and Olomouc, including from the Oberlandrat, the Regierungspräsident Troppau, the SD headquarters in Opava, the Gestapo headquarters in Opava, the Finance Chief in Opava, and the Police Headquarters in Olomouc. Also features administrative records from the State District Archives Přerov, State District Archives Šumperk, State District Archives Bruntal, State District Archives Karviná, State District Archives Jeseník, and the State District Archives Olomouc pertaining to Landrat headquarters and district offices, including in Bílovec, Český Těšín, Darkov, Dolní Lipová, Doubrava, Fryštát, Horní Lutyně, Hranice, Javorník, Kojetín, Loštice, Nový Bohumín, Nový Jičín, Orlová, Otice, Petrovice, Přerov, Studénka, Těšín, Tovačov, and Zlaté Hory.
